After the great success we had last year with this initiative (see video here), again this year we will collect Christmas boxes for the needy. Please read the Student Council presentation about this event at this link.
We encourage all PYP families to consider those in need this holiday season and help your child understand that Christmas is not just about receiving presents, it is also about GIVING.
Parent help with the delivery: We kindly request the assistance of parent volunteers who are willing to collect the gift boxes from the school at 14:30 on December 15th and deliver them to the collection center(s) in the Treviso area. Please send an email to corinna.bellinghieri@h-is.com if you are able/willing to help.
We ask that each PYP student provide a wrapped gift box (no larger than a shoe box please) containing the following items:
- Most importantly, the box should include a Christmas Card with a lovely message and a beautiful drawing
- Something warm (gloves, hat, scarf, socks)
- A personal hygiene product (toothbrush/toothpaste, body wash, hand lotion, etc.)
- A treat (packaged candies, cookies, chocolates, etc.)
- Something to pass the time (a book, sudoku/pencil, journal/colored pencils, etc.
Each box should be appropriate for either a boy or a girl of a specific age range and labelled as such (i.e. boy aged 3-5 years, girl aged 9-10 years, etc.)
Timeline for collection and delivery of the Gift Boxes
– December 13-15 – PYP students may bring gift boxes to the reception area of the PYP building
– December 15 – delivery of all gift boxes (parent volunteers) to the collection center(s) in Treviso (the list of the centers is constantly updated here)
