🎗️It is with great pleasure that we announce that a student-led Modelling United Nations (MUN) Club has been established in school. Please find the poster here. Participating in an MUN Club will help our student body develop a variety of skills including: public speaking and debate, research and analysis, critical thinking, diplomacy and negotiation, leadership and teamwork, cultural awareness and understanding. Attendance is open to MYP 4-5 and DP students alike and participation to this club counts towards their SA and CAS programs. The club will culminate with an MUN Conference participation later this year.
🎗️Please note a new club has been established by DP 1 students as part of their CAS program: a Math Club will start this Friday, 20 January 2023, from 11:15 to 12:15 in the Physics Lab and is open to all DP1 students wanting to enhance their maths knowledge. The club is endorsed by Prof Surucu.
🎗️Flagging an upcoming Chess Tournament by 2 DP 2 students as part of their CAS program. Poster of tournament here and invitation extended to MYP 4 throughout DP 2 students. Hope to see many of our kids involved in this!
🎗️We are most pleased to share the upcoming Digital literacy workshop for senior citizens of Roncade, in collaboration with Fondazione Citta di Roncade. The initiative is meant to build intergenerational connections, bridge the digital divide, improve access to information and services, enhance socialization and mental well being of the seniors as they can stay connected online with families and friends and prepare the seniors for future jobs and economy. Workshop will kick off on Wednesday, 25 January and a group of 40 local seniors are welcomed for a set of 6 encounters on our Campus Wednesdays, 16:30-18:00. We hereby thank our 15 boarding students volunteers for making this possible.
🙏 In an effort to build bridges with the local community, our school has established a partnership with the local public schools in Silea, Roncade and Biancade. The project, led by Professor Pitarresi, called “United through science” will allow groups of 20 external students to access our labs for hands-on biology and chemistry alternating classes. 10 DP 1 students volunteered to teach external students, allowing them to build on new sets of skills. This experience counts towards their CAS program. The 1st session is scheduled with public school students from Silea on 27th January, 10:30-12:00.
🙏 In preparation of the Black History Awareness Month which is held in February, our students are working on a CAS project showcasing posters of 30 notable people and their achievements. QR posters will be distributed around the Campus to mark this event. Poster here!
🥘 Remember Foody, the H-FARM Community Recipe Book project, meant to fundraise towards ResQ, the humanitarian civil fleet saving migrants in the Mediterranean? Our Foody recipe book is available here and we are circulating it back to our community. Please donate towards ResQ: a collection box is available at the MYP/DP reception and your contribution is highly appreciated!
🎗️For the Service as Action part we would like to celebrate the PYP Gardening Club, description here, led by Carola Citterio, Angelica Vanin and Emma Cimarosto who prepared 6 special sessions for the PYP students growing various flowers and herbs to adorn the empty spaces around the PYP building, with the purpose of spreading awareness on nature. Well done to our SA students for a well orchestrated workshop, received with great enthusiasm by the little ones! Please check out a summary for the last session at this link.
