As part of their Unit of Inquiry about celebrations in different cultures, our Year 1 students have been and will continue to participate in a range of learning experiences that expose them to a wide range of cultures and cultural celebrations. Our Year 1 students are developing a strong basis of international mindedness as part of these experiences as they meet new people from around the world, taste new foods, make crafts from different countries and try out a range of dances that express different cultures. As part of their celebration of Chinese New Year, the Year 1 students will be dressed in red (for good luck) as they enjoy a fantastic Chinese lunch and create crafts that are part of this important event. Many thanks to the parents who will help make this wonderful experience possible for our students. Year 1 parents are asked to read this letter prior to this celebration.
