Message from the Head of School 2000 1125 School Office MYP & DP

Dear Parents,

My Tuesday began with the launch of the PYP exhibition, a launch which involved parents, students, and teachers in a vibrant discussion on linking student passions to real world Sustainable Development Goals. As I walked over to the Hill to meet with our MYP 5 students and visit their Personal Project exhibitions, I walked through parents installing beautiful Valentine’s Day balloon structures (Thank you PTA!! They were beautiful.) The personal projects themselves were wonderful – and they showcased everything from video game design, to creative writing, to the creation of bio-plastics to video essays on Fellini, to…well, it would be a very long list to include all the talent on display. I’d like to send a big thank you to Mr Vino and to all MYP 5 Personal Project mentors, and, of course, the MYP 5 students.

As the week comes to an end, this day, to me, encapsulates so many elements of our school spirit: we value students’ passions, students link these interests to real world problems, allowing them to lead their (and our) learning and anchoring all this learning firmly in a global context. And, of course, the fact that all of these adventures in learning were surrounded by symbols of love speaks volumes.

Wishing you all a wonderful settimana bianca,

Conan de Wilde
