Over the past several months, our teachers have participated in virtual and face to face professional learning opportunities. This past Saturday our entire Early Years team spent the day at school with Anne van Dam, Early Childhood expert, to discuss the Image of the Child and the Role of the Adult in Early Years. This was the first of a series of sessions with Anne who will return for her second visit in November 2023. Additionally, a group of 7 elementary teachers took part in a 4 part virtual workshop series with Dan Feigelson to deepen understanding about the why, how and what associated with conferencing with students about their reading and writing. Dan will also spend more time with our entire elementary staff in November when he comes to spend several days helping to further develop our teachers’ practice. These are just two examples of the numerous Professional Learning opportunities the PYP teachers have undertaken this school year. We are a community of lifelong learners and our fabulous teaching team is constantly striving to develop themselves as educators
