🎗 We are most pleased to feature an outstanding CAS project by three DP 1 students. Elisabetta Balzano, JiaJia Cheng and Nicole Martignani are the coordinators of Futura Memoria, a project in commemoration of Liberation Day on 25th April, which aims at educating students and the community on the importance of this historical date in shaping Italy’s history. The project entails a talk as part of the Ignition Lab speaker series on 17th April by Sara Lando & Beit Venezia – poster here. The students produced this video that is currently featured on the school screens for the whole week. They have also created this poster and this leaflet which have been distributed in school. The project has been endorsed by our History teacher, Mr. Alessandro Vino. Well done Elisabetta, JiaJia and Nicole!
🙏 Celebrating the project Digital literacy workshop for senior citizens of Roncade “Smartphone, Istruzioni per l’uso”, in collaboration with Fondazione Città di Roncade. A big thank you to our 15+ volunteers from DP 1 who brilliantly led the six sessions between January and March for our 40+ seniors in Roncade, their dedication and commitment is truly inspiring! Through the workshop our students have demonstrated leadership, compassion and sense of responsibility that we can all be proud of. On behalf of the school community I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for their time, energy and enthusiasm in making this workshop a success. Please take a moment to read through the articles on this initiative in the local newspapers: Il Gazzettino di Treviso 10th March 2023, Fondazione Citta di Roncade 1/2023 (page 18) and Roncade notizie Marzo 2023 (page 34-35).
🎗️ Celebrating service opportunities with H-College students startups for our DP 1 students. In an effort to provide to our students service learning opportunities on Campus during their free study periods we have matched them with three H-College student startups for an internship-like collaboration: Chiara Schettino – Rosso (blood donation), article here; Riccardo Lovisetto – KeyBrain, (psychologists, mental coach, etc) article here; Filippo Casellato – Etrash, article here. Several applications have been received already and the three startups have chosen the candidates who are currently in internship with them.
🙏 We are most pleased to formalize the new Business & Coding Club, which will happen on Mondays from 13:30 to 14:00 in the Business/Economics 1 room, open to MYP 3 through DP2 students. We are looking for DP 1 students to take this over as their CAS project. The first project is about video game development, establishing a company and selling the product in student fairs and beyond. If you are interested please contact Mr Graudins and Mr Schram and copy your CAS coordinator on the email. Hurry up, 5 more spots available!
🙏 In an effort to build bridges with the local community, our school has established a partnership with the local public schools in Silea, Roncade and Biancade. The project, led by Professor Vincenzo Pitarresi, called “United through science” will allow groups of twenty external students to access our labs for hands-on biology and chemistry alternating classes. Ten DP 1 students volunteered to teach external students, allowing them to build on new sets of skills. This experience counts towards their CAS program.
