🎗️ Show your engagement towards World Oceans Day celebrated today, 8th June, by actively participating in the Adopt a Sea Animal Campaign. This CAS project is brought to you by Emma Tobe, Andjela Rodic and Giulia Astrologo. Collections start today, 8th June, and continue throughout Friday, 16th June during breaks! Fundraising target is 500 Euros, please show your commitment to the cause, you can make a difference!

Celebrate World Oceans Day with us and join the movement for sustainable oceans! On this day, we are reminded of the vital role that oceans play in our lives as the lungs of our planet and a source of food, medicine, and biodiversity. The United Nations is hosting a panel of 30 speakers, representing various perspectives, to discuss how we can prioritize the ocean and work towards its sustainable management. You can listen to this enlightening discussion through this link. Additionally, we are organizing a symbolic adoption of a sea animal through the WWF, where each donation contributes to their protection, habitat restoration, and the creation of a harmonious coexistence between wildlife and people. Vote for your chosen animal by accessing this link, and be prepared to show your commitment: we collect donations during lunch. Thank you for your attention, and let’s make World Oceans Day a meaningful and impactful event!

🙏 In partnership with Fondazione Città di Roncade, our school is most pleased to celebrate the volunteering opportunity hosted by H-IS: a Digital storytelling workshop delivered by our DP 1 students to public primary school students in Roncade as part of their CAS program. The program rolled out every Wednesday throughout the month of May, 4 meetings which culminated with the production of a comic book and an animation movie – poster of the workshop here. This workshop aimed at building bridges with the local community in Roncade, enhancing digital literacy, building creative and critical thinking skills, fostering empathy and understanding and providing a sense of purpose and agency. A big thank you to our 4 student volunteers! The initiative was featured in the local press here and here. Please watch the video of the sessions here.

🙏 Celebrating the project Digital literacy workshop for senior citizens of Roncade “Smartphone, Istruzioni per l’uso”, in collaboration with Fondazione Città di Roncade. A big thank you to our 15+ volunteers from DP 1 who brilliantly led the six sessions between January and March for our 40+ seniors in Roncade, their dedication and commitment is truly inspiring! Through the workshop our students have demonstrated leadership, compassion and sense of responsibility that we can all be proud of. On behalf of the school community I would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for their time, energy and enthusiasm in making this workshop a success. Please take a moment to read through the articles on this initiative in the local newspapers: Il Gazzettino di Treviso 10th March 2023, Fondazione Citta di Roncade 1/2023 (page 18) and Roncade notizie Marzo 2023 (page 34-35).

🎗️ Celebrating service opportunities with H-College students startups for our DP 1 students. In an effort to provide to our students service learning opportunities on Campus during their free study periods we have matched them with three H-College student startups for an internship-like collaboration: Chiara Schettino – Rosso (blood donation), article here; Riccardo Lovisetto – KeyBrain, (psychologists, mental coach, etc) article here; Filippo Casellato – Etrash, article here. Several applications have been received already and the three startups have chosen the candidates who are currently in internship with them.

🙏 On the Service as Action side we are pleased to feature the toy collection project organised by MYP2 student Lupo Zanatta, poster here. Lupo’s toy collection goes to the Pediatric Ward of Ca’ Foncello Hospital in Treviso and his commitment to the cause originates from watching a video in class. Well done Lupo!
