MYP 4-5: Welcome Back!

MYP 4-5: Welcome Back!

MYP 4-5: Welcome Back! 2560 1445 School Office MYP & DP

Everyone in MYP 4-5 would like to welcome all the students back to school for the 2023-2024 school year. As these two years represent the culmination of the MYP, we endeavour to prepare students for the rigours of the DP.

Important policies worth noting:

Smart Devices: No phones or smart watches are allowed at any time in school. If these devices are brought to school and used during the school day (08:30 – 16:15), they will be confiscated by teachers and taken to the office.

Uniform – As mentioned in our school policy, all students are required to wear an H-FARM top, with dark/khaki/cream trousers. Blue jeans are allowed in MYP 4-5, but they must be one colour and non-”distressed” (no rips, shreds, tears or patches are allowed whatsoever). All MYP students are required to wear school uniforms, and we ask that all students follow the school dress code

Punctuality – From 8:30 – 8:45 each day we have Mentor time. This is a section of the day that allows the mentors time to communicate any news with the mentees and also allow for welfare check-ins. 8:30 is the start of school and all students should be present in homeroom at this time.

Amor & Campus Boundaries: MYP 4-5 students have access to Amor during the morning break (11:00 – 11:15) and the lunch break (12:45 – 13:55). At all other times, students should be in class. For visits to the Campus library and the Hill, as well as any building beyond the Hill, students should only visit these places with the supervision of a teacher. Thus, for example, the DP Building, Serra or the College building are off-limits for unsupervised students.

Scooters: During the school day (08:30 – 16:15), MYP students are not allowed to use the electric scooters prevalent throughout the H-FARM Campus. These scooters are for H-FARM staff or visitors. If scooters are used before or after the school day, they must be left at the covered area on the main path outside the MYP building.

Lockers – MYP students will have a locker to store books and school supplies; lockers can be locked with a combination padlock (not provided by the school). We recommend using padlocks with a 5-6mm thick ring due to the unique shape of the locker closure (if it is thinner, the locker may open; if it is thicker, it will not fit into the lock).

All the MYP 4-5 mentors, teachers and staff cannot wait to greet both new and returning on the first days of school. We look forward to all the learning and enriching experiences that we’ll encounter this year!

See you next week,

Richard Pelton, Head of Programme MYP 4-5
