We are thrilled with the start of this school year. Our students have settled in quickly and learning is well underway. Our Year 5 students are spending the week at Lake Garda developing the H-Skills that are fundamental in our Year 5 program: Perseverance, Autonomy, Self-awareness: Self-care, Self-worth, Emotional Intelligence.
As educators, we always provide social emotional support for our students. Our approach is based on dialogue and uncovering the reason (the why) behind certain behaviors. All of our teachers take the time to speak with children when needed. Our school counselor, Fiammetta Gioia, also works with PYP students when the need arises. Next week Fiammetta, along with Lucy Hermon, our Year 3 teacher, will host a special session for our new elementary students to provide even more support for their transition into our school community. Fiammetta will also host some Parent Workshops in the coming months. These will focus on children’s growth and development, limit setting for parents and bilingualism. Further details to come!
We’ve enjoyed seeing many parents during our recent Class Meetings and we’re looking forward to a positive school year for the entire PYP community. New parents: please join us for a special session that will help you better understand how your child is learning through the PYP here at our school. Tuesday, September 26th at 9:00 we will host the parent workshop An introduction to the PYP at H-FARM. We are preparing the full schedule of parent workshops for the 23/24 school year. Please let us know if there are specific areas you would like us to address.
Mark your calendars: The PYP STEAM event which is being planned for all PYP students and all PYP parents, will be an exciting and engaging PYP community event that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. October 23 (Monday) from 14:00-17:00.
