International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day 725 407 School Office MYP & DP

On February 21st we celebrated International Mother Language Day, a worldwide event held annually. The day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and to encourage the use of mother languages to preserve heritage.

Our M1-3 students had the chance to participate in related events run by our M4 students which were hugely successful. Our M5 students also produced a wonderful short film celebrating linguistic diversity at H-FARM. Similarly, DP1 students, as part of their CAS project, filmed a clip featuring students of different nationalities.

Well done to everyone involved in running this event and thank you to all students who organised the activities! Congratulations to our fantastic filmmakers for having given us such a unique viewing experience!
