Orientation and Career Guidance 1707 2560 School Office

Important information for DP2 Students

This is to inform all DP2 families that on Monday 15 April during core DP2 students will be guided on how to submit a form that allows them to request for their final results to be sent to universities and require the legalization of the Diploma when necessary. It is important that all students attend this core session and complete the form with care.

Upcoming Guidance Meeting DP1 Parents

We are excited to inform you about the upcoming events with the Guidance counsellors. These meetings provide an opportunity for us to share the work we are doing with your students, discuss strategies to support their research and preparation, and address any questions you may have about specific programs.

Each student has received an individual meeting invitation to meet with a guidance counsellor (surnames A-Gir with Ms. Mocanu, Gri-Z with Ms. Fabris). These meetings will focus on reviewing the results of their career exploration survey and screening for guidance needs.

In addition, the guidance counsellors will be available to meet with parents in small groups at the following times:

As we approach the end of the term, we want to ensure that students have completed the following tasks:

  • Orientation Survey
  • University Fair Worksheet
  • CV
  • Personal Statement / Motivation Letter Draft
  • Long List of Programs of Interest
  • Teacher Recommendation Form

Students are encouraged to complete these assignments during the mandatory core sessions on Mondays. If additional guidance is needed, students can book appointments with the counsellors. Parents will be notified if students fail to submit these tasks.

We also want to remind you about the upcoming online events in partnership with university partners and Valdo Academic. Details for these events are available in the School Office Notice and ManageBac Guidance class.

Guidance CAS project: Medicine entry tests in Italy and the UK

I am thrilled to share with our community an insightful presentation on the Medicine entry tests in Italy and the UK, courtesy of Anna Santopouli, our DP2 student who provided the material as part of her CAS project.

The material features the IMAT, the medicine entry test for the Italian English taught programs as well as the TOLC-MED, the entry test in Italian together with their attaining practice textbooks and portals. As for the UK, the UCAT and BMAT are featured along with their respective practice materials. We encourage you to explore here the presentation and here the podcast as they offer invaluable insights into these crucial entry tests. Your child might find this information particularly helpful as they navigate their future academic and career paths.

Choosing an undergraduate program has become one of the most complex and crucial decisions for today’s youth. The academic landscape offers a broad and diverse range of possibilities, but navigating these options can be an intricate process, requiring time and deep reflection. Parents play a fundamental role as a supportive force, providing both informational and emotional support to their children, enabling them to embark on this significant stage of their lives with awareness and confidence.
