Details:

  • When: Friday, December 13th
  • Where: Verona
  • What: Teatro Romano, Arena di Verona
  • Unit of Inquiry Ancient Civilisations: this visit will give the students an exciting opportunity to learn about Ancient Rome in the context of this unique city. We will begin the trip by visiting the centre of Verona to participate in a guided tour of the Arena. We will have lunch in a Pizzeria before travelling to the Roman theatre where the students will take part in a series of different workshops to learn about daily life, gladiators and the theatre. The day will finish with a nice snack before we head back to school. This trip has been carefully planned in conjunction with the Italian curriculum and maestra Federica will reflect on the learning in her lessons. The trip will have activities in English and Italian for all of our language learners.

Logistics:

  • Program: We will leave school promptly at 8.00 am and return at 6:00pm. The children will need to be at school by 7:50 and need to be collected at school at 6:00 by their parents as there will be no bus service operating either in the morning or afternoon, due to the long journey to Verona.
  • What to wear: school uniform, a warm coat and comfortable walking shoes.
  • What to bring: a small backpack (no trolley) and a full water bottle
  • Snack: the school will provide both morning and afternoon snack
  • Lunch: we will have lunch in a pizzeria (special meals will be provided, and students should not bring any food with them)
  • Important note: the students will not need any extra money, nor should they have any electronic devices with them.

What to do if:

  • My child can’t participate: if it’s either a scheduled absence or your child is sick, please inform us as soon as possible. Please note: the educational visit is effectively part of the didactic programme of the school. For this reason, we expect all students to participate.

Payment and confirmation:

  • Daily trips are included in the “2024-25 daily trips” payment so no extra payment is needed for this trip.
