Last week, the PYP4 students launched an exciting inaugural project with Valentino Torre, an MYP5 student, with the goal of creating an original art piece to be entered into the global competition organized by Never Such Innocence, an organization that empowers young people ages 9-18 to use art as a means of reflecting on war and conflict and has engaged with 129 countries from around the world. Valentino, who received an award in the organization’s international competition two years ago by creating a film with accompanying original poetry and music, now serves as the Italian youth ambassador for their mission. Collaborating with Ms. Denisse, they are helping to lead discussions and create art that explores the intersection of art and exploring the topic Conversations of Conflict.
