I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and were able to rest, relax and recharge, ready for our next chapter of learning!
During this short week, we discussed ‘Returning to Learning’. An opportunity for us to get back into routines, and to catch up with friends. We have welcomed a new student into school this year, there have been lots of discussions about the holidays, and students are happy to be back in school.
Just a few reminders about how to stay safe and keep our students learning:
- Ensure students are kept safe on campus, we ask you to only collect PYP Students from the designated area, the Welcome Center.
- Continue to let homeroom teachers know if you are not going to be in school by submitting attendance excusals on Toddle, this helps us plan for the day and specific group activities.
- Continue to ensure that your child is demonstrating their self-management skills (one of our Approaches to Learning) by getting their school things ready for themselves. This should include them wearing a coat to school. We will get children outside in the playground as often as possible, so children must have suitable clothing to support this. (Coats, hats, scarves, gloves, boots etc)
- Ensure any new items of clothing have clear name labels attached so that lost items can be reunited with their owner.
- Continue to check Toddle together, and talk about learning
- Read for 20 minutes every day. (This could be reading together or reading to each other and in English or your Home Language)
