Recently, after the winter break, our students have been talking to us about some of the great movies and TV shows they have been watching at home. We understand that all families are different and approach age ratings for TV and games differently. However, one way you can be sure that a TV show, movie, game or book is appropriate for your child is to use a website such as Common Sense Media.
Using this website, parents can search for a movie, TV show, game or book and receive an age rating from other parents and kids. It also includes some of the reasons for that age rating; including Drinking and drug use, Smoking, Violence, Language and Sex, Romance and Nudity, so that you can make an informed decision. While we encourage students to discuss their interests with others, if a child begins to talk about something that is not appropriate for their age at school, we will ask them to not discuss it with other students.
