This year, instead of limiting our focus to Safer Internet Day (February 11th), we have decided to extend the conversation and dedicate the entire month to raising awareness about online safety, digital responsibility, and well-being.
Throughout February, students will engage in a series of activities, assemblies, and discussions designed to help them navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. In collaboration with the H-Skills team (MYP) and the Digital Learning Coach (PYP), we are addressing key topics such as cyberbullying, privacy, digital footprints, and managing screen time.
By extending this initiative over a month, we aim to create a lasting impact and encourage students to think critically about their online presence and interactions. We encourage parents to continue the conversation at home, together, we can help students develop healthy and responsible digital habits.

As a first area of focus related to internet use, we have planned an informative Webinar about Sleep Disorders. The webinar is designed to help parents understand and address sleep disorders in students ranging from elementary school through high school.
With a focus on the critical role that sleep plays in the development, academic success, and mental well-being of children, the session will equip parents with knowledge and strategies to support their child’s sleep health. The webinar will also highlight the impact of technology on sleep and provide practical tips for managing bedtime routines, diet, and screen time.
In addition, parents will learn effective strategies for creating healthy sleep habits, improving sleep hygiene, and addressing any challenges that arise from sleep difficulties.
Ms Fiammetta Gioia, the school counselor, will conduct the webinar on Monday, February 17th, at 1 pm. The meeting will be recorded.
