In its fourth year, the H-Cup was back again this past Tuesday on the H-FARM Campus. The under 18 event included teams from H-FARM International School Vicenza, Besta Treviso, EISP Padova, IS Bergamo and our own Venice teams.
We were lucky to have a sunny day after weeks of rain, and everyone enjoyed a full day of sport.
Teams competed in Padel, Beach Volleyball, Basketball, and both boys and girls Football.
Our athletes were front and center in all of the competitions in all of the events. We eventually won two first place trophies in Basketball and Volleyball. The true spirit of sport was at the forefront of the day. FairPlay and sportsmanship were evident on every pitch and every court, which made me extremely proud. We were very pleased with how our students played with true passion and determination, and made new friends and built relationships that they will remember forever.
As I’ve always told our students, sporting competition can bring out the best or the worst in people. By focusing and reflecting on your own performance, and how you can make yourself and team-mates better, and you will always be successful. Win or lose.
I’d like to thank our Sports department team of Francesco Basso and Raffaella Rostolis for all of their hard work in organizing such a huge event. Also a big thumbs up to all of the student volunteers and helpers, and all of the non participating students and teachers and staff for coming out to supporting our teams.
We are currently preparing for our next event. The H-Cup Under 14 that will be held on May 14th.
