In October, we will administer the International School Assessment (ISA) for MYP1, MYP3 and MYP5 students in the subject areas of Maths and English (Reading). These assessments help us audit our curricula and determine possible learning gaps for the specific grade levels versus thousands of other international schools.
The results are purely so that we can improve as a school. These exams will not affect students’ grades nor will they determine course choices in the MYP or the DP. The assessment period is from Monday, 2nd October to Wednesday, 11th October 2023. Students will be taking the Maths test during their Maths class and their English (Reading) test during their English classes. There is no way that students can study or prepare for the tests and we are simply looking for results which reflect students’ existing knowledge. Students will have taken a sample test this week so that they are familiar with the format and computer interface.
Please read the ISA Privacy Statement to parents and contact Mr Emiliano Cori, Secondary School Principal, Mr Paul Iacco, Head of Programme MYP1-3, or Mr Richard Pelton, Head of Programme MYP4-5, with any questions or concerns.
