Dear PYP3 Parents
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that our residential trip to Brescia (March 20-21), and thus also the “packing weekend”, is getting closer and closer! We’re incredibly excited to provide this opportunity to your children.
Please make sure to read through this letter carefully, including the packing list, and to take action as requested. Thank you for helping to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Nighttime Habits
Please communicate to your child’s class teacher (Ms Carvalho or Ms Maria) any nighttime habits or needs your child may have (toileting needs, different sleep habits, etc.) This information will help our teachers support your child while he/she/they is away from you for the night.
Departure on Thursday morning (March 20th) at 8:00am.
Return on Friday afternoon (March 21st) at approximately 5:00pm.
Departure
Students (and parents) should wait at the meeting point (indicated with the X on the map below, at the far end of the parking lot) with their luggage. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 7:45 and no later than 8:00. The students will not be going inside the PYP building as a group before departing on the coach. The coach will leave on time to ensure there is enough time to make the most of the learning experiences after the bus journey.

All Y3 students must come to school wearing their school uniform on March 20th. They also need to be wearing a waterproof and comfortable jacket. The following day, the students do not need to wear their school uniform.
Arrival
We will return to school late on Friday, the 21st. There will be no school bus service when we arrive back, therefore all students must be collected from school at 5:00pm. We will notify class representatives when the group is one hour away from school. If your child is being collected by another parent you must inform the school ahead of time. Thank you.
ID Cards
Please give your child their ID and health card in a sealed bag with their name on it. They will hand these over to their homeroom teacher on Wednesday morning and they will keep all student documents in their custody during the trip.
Below is the list of personal items each child should bring in one small rolling suitcase and one small backpack.
Important note: Your child must not bring anything other than what is indicated below.
Please involve your child in packing her/his suitcase so he/she knows what is inside to ensure he/she is able to keep track of their belongings independently throughout the trip. Students must be able to manage their suitcase and their belongings independently.
The students should bring 1 rolling suitcase which should contain the following items. Please remember that clothing needs to be comfortable. All of your child’s belongings must be clearly labeled with your child’s name.

Medications
NOTE: This is NOT a request for you to send medications for your child. That said, some children require regular medication.
If your child actually needs them during their time away, medications should only be given to teachers on Wednesday March 19th, as per the instructions below.
Please do not wait until the morning of the departure to give the medication to your child’s homeroom teacher. That morning will be incredibly exciting and busy and we must ensure that we have a full understanding of any medications before then.
Students must not have medications of any kind in their suitcases or backpacks.
- All medications must be in a sealed bag, clearly labelled with your child’s first and last name.
- The bag must also contain written permission for each medication and explicit written instructions for administering each medication, including clear dosage amounts and timings.
- Medications will not be administered without written permission and students will not be allowed to self-medicate.
The school First Aid kit will contain paracetamol (tachipirina). Before administering paracetamol (tachipirina), one of the chaperones will contact you to get your permission and dosage amounts.
