As part of our focus on developing H-Skills and International Mindedness in the PYP section, our Year 3, 4 & 5 students have been offered the opportunity to volunteer for various roles in the PYP section of the school. Opportunities include: Student Mentor (Y5 only), Library Helper, Garden Friend, Groundskeeper, Community Gathering Organizer, Lunch Helper, Menu Preparer, Language Tutor and PYP Ambassador. We’ve already received a tremendous amount of interest from students who are interested in taking on more responsibility within the school community. For each role, students have been asked to explain why they feel they would do a good job. Responses so far have included “I like helping people and making them happy”, “I like to read and I want to learn how a library works”, “I’m a very nice person and I have been in many conflicts. If there is a problem I can very probably solve it” and “I want to help the world be a better place”. We’re already very proud of our students and they haven’t even begun volunteering! We’re looking forward to seeing great things as our students assume these various responsibilities.
